ClickBank University 2.0 Review – Is This The Course To Get You Started?

ClickBank has been around for several years now and is a well-known platform used by vendors and affiliate marketers to make money online.

They now have their own course that aims to provide the skills and tools needed to make money using ClickBank.

The first version of this course was launched in 2013 but it has now been upgraded with a newer version.

In this ClickBank University 2.0 review, we will give you the full lowdown on this course and whether it is a good way to improve your chances of success as an online entrepreneur.

What is ClickBank University 2.0?

Clickbank University is a training course and online community where you can learn how to create your own info products to sell online at ClickBank

There is also a second aspect of the course which is affiliate marketing. In this part of the training, you will learn how to market other peoples products and earn a commission.

ClickBank University 2.0 is an upgraded version of the course and has greatly improved on the original in many areas.

If you’re familiar with affiliate marketing, you will be aware that ClickBank is one of the biggest affiliate marketplaces for selling digital products. 

What do you get if you Join ClickBank University?

8-Week Affiliate Marketing Course

As mentioned above, there are two aspects to the training offered by Clickbank University. In this 8 week course, you will learn how to promote other people’s product on ClickBank as an affiliate.

This means that there is no need for you to create your own product, all you have to do is to promote other people’s products and earn affiliate commissions.

This is how I earn money through my websites and in my opinion it is the best way for anyone to get started earning money online. If you like the sound of it then CBU 2.0 isn’t your best bet, I suggest that you look at this course.

The affiliate marketing training at Clickbank University is ok but it is quite narrowly focused on using ClickBank itself and feels like it has been given far less emphasis than the product creation part of the course.

The video lessons are good for learning a bit about the topic of affiliate marketing in general, they are more like a video lecture than a proper tutorial.

I don’t think that they have the level of detail that you need to actually go away and build a website and make money based on the videos.

Affiliate marketing is a huge topic and you are better off going with a community that specialises in it like Wealthy Affiliate. It is where I learnt to do it and you can get started with your very own website in a few minutes, all for FREE.

12-Week Training for Vendors

The main aspect of the course is training for vendors that will show you how to create a digital product that you can sell online (using ClickBank of course).

This part of the training is actually quite extensive and informative. The training is in a weekly step-by-step format with videos to watch and PDFs to read. They cover a whole load of topics, including:

• Brainstorming and researching on what niche to go into and what product to create
• How to create a customer avatar
• How to create a digital product
• How to create a landing page/squeeze page
• How to create a sales funnel
• How to drive traffic to your landing page
• How to get affiliates to promote your product
• How to scale up your ClickBank business, etc…

If you are interested in creating your own digital product then CBU2.0 is not a bad place to learn. They clearly have a lot of experience in this space and you will definitely learn something new.

The link with their own platform means that you will have a ready-made marketplace where you can launch your product.

Weekly Live Q&A Webinar

Every week members can ask the owners, Adam and Justin, any questions that they may have. As these are recorded you can also watch them back at a time that suits you.

In theory, this is great, but the delivery isn’t great. There is no specific theme each week so you cant make an informed decision on whether the webinar will be useful to you before it starts.

It also means that the library of old webinars is way less useful than it could be as you cant search or skim through titles to find what you are looking for.

It seems that the main purpose of these webinars could be to get you to continue your membership and keep paying your $47 per month since you will have got through all the content in the first few weeks.

Private Facebook Group

There was a dedicated CBU forum within the member’s area but when I last checked it seemed to be deactivated. The Facebook group is ok, but the level of activity and engagement is disappointing and falls far short of the one I’m personally involved in.

Occasionally Adam and Justin will personally join in the discussion but they don’t seem particularly active.

ClickBank Builder 2.0

The $47 monthly fee gets you access to all the training, but CBU 2.0 will also try to sell you the ClickBank Builder 2.0.

They claim that it is a tool that will help boost you business by helping you to easily create professional-looking websites, landing pages and offer pages.

The ClickBank Builder is a useful tool that helps you build nice looking pages using a ‘drag and drop’ tool.

The problem is that they charge $594 for this tool. This is not cheap and way more than comparable tools like Elementor Pro or Thrive Architect.

In fact, it is perfectly possible to build a nice looking website using just free tools.

The training at ClickBank University 2.0 focuses on using ClickBank Builder so if you want to follow along you are more or less obliged to purchase it.

The advantage of the ClickBank Builder 2.0 is that it is created by ClickBank so you can easily integrate it with your ClickBank offers.

It is a useful tool for product creators as it offers a pre-set funnel strategy that will be especially helpful for anyone just starting out and it should help to get you started making money online.

A major disadvantage is that to use it you will need to host your website at ClickBank. Of course, you will need to keep paying your monthly fee to do this and it will become much more difficult to move your website to a different host if you decide that you want to leave CBU.

Pros & Cons

ClickBank University – The Good

1. Great for ClickBank

ClickBank is a huge platform for online marketers that has been going for years and it has helped thousands of people to make a great income.

If you are interested in going down this route and creating a digital product to market through ClickBank then it makes sense to learn directly from CBU.

There are a lot of other gurus out there that have had success with ClickBank and now sell courses but I would recommend you go with CBU since it is so closely tied with Clickbank.

This is especially true if you are totally new to the work of online marketing as this course should give you a decent leg up towards making some money.

2. Money-Back Guarantee

It would be great if CBU offered a free trial or a discounted first month. Sadly they don’t offer this but they do at least offer a 30-day money-back guarantee.

It is always good to see a course that has a guarantee like this because it shows that they have confidence in the quality of their product.

You could think of it like having a 30 day free trial since you can get you money back if you don’t like it.

ClickBank University – The Bad

1. Weak Affiliate Marketing Course

The training provided for vendors is good and there is lots of information on creating and selling your own product. The second course on affiliate marketing doesn’t really provide that much value and isn’t really detailed enough for you to get started.

If you are interested in getting started with affiliate marketing (and you should be – it the best way to start earning online), I recommend that you read this post to find out more about the program that got me started with affiliate marketing.

2. ClickBank Builder 2.0

As soon as you sign up you will be hit with the ClickBank Builder upsell. The tool itself has some merit but it is expensive for what it does and there are similar tools available far cheaper if you are looking for a page builder.

It will also lock you in to using ClickBank for hosting which means that you have less flexibility to take your business in the direction that you want to.

Conversely, if you don’t payout for this tool then the training itself will be far less valuable to you since so much of it is focused on using the ClickBank Builder 2.0.

I don’t like how this cost is not made clear upfront before you join as it is pretty much a necessity if you want to get the most out of the training.

3. Training is Time Locked

So, I have described the courses above as being 8weeks and 12 weeks long. This is how CBU want you to work through the courses and to help you keep to this schedule they have kindly locked some of the content so that you can’t skip ahead or binge-watch all the training.

You can watch a couple of videos, then you have to wait a while until they unlock some more content.

I find this really annoying. After all, you are paying for access to this training.

They say that it is so that you don’t miss anything important by skipping ahead.

But its really inconvenient and the real reason seems to be to force you to into prolonging your membership into the second and third month.

There is a workaround. If you email them and ask nicely they should unlock the content for you but it is an unnecessary hassle.

4. Low Quality Weekly Webinars

As mentioned above, the weekly webinars lack focus. There is no weekly topic, just a question and answer section where you can get any random topics covered altogether.

This is not the best way to learn and is a bit of a missed opportunity.

On any given session you will get a lot of questions from newer, more inexperienced members.

This means that a lot of the same things crop up repeatedly and there is less useful content for people that have more experience.

5. Only Paid Traffic

ClickBank University 2.0 only focuses on teaching you about paid traffic. Mainly they cover using Facebook Ads and Instagram Influencer Marketing.

This is all well and good, but if you only follow the techniques that are covered in this training you will miss out on the best kind of traffic, free traffic.

The CBU 2.0 course fails to cover things like Search Engine Optimisation (SEO), free social media marketing or content marketing.

By relying on paid traffic to get your business going, you will incur far higher start-up costs than if you pursued a strategy that harnessed free traffic.

When you combine this with your monthly membership fee and the ClickBank Builder cost you are looking at a sizeable investment to get your online business started.

Of course, this is still pretty cheap compared to a traditional brick and mortar business but there are other ways to get started for free or very little cost.

Is ClickBank University 2.0 a Scam?

ClickBank University 2.0 is NOT a scam.

They offer real coaches with legit training resources to help you make money with ClickBank.

I think that it is overpriced for what you get and that the training limited on the affiliate marketing side.

If you want to make and sell your own digital product then CBU is worth a try.

But if you are more experienced or would prefer to get into affiliate marketing then I recommend that you join my community of thousands of affiliate marketers.

I hope that you have enjoyed reading my ClickBank University 2.0 review. It is certainly not the worst training out there, but I don’t think that it is the best either.
